Azazel Statue

$14.50

This statue is made of resin with a faux bronze finish. It stands approximately 4.125 inches tall by 2.75 inches across by 1.875 inches deep. We sculpted this statue of Azazel according to an illustration in Collin de Plancy's book Dictionnaire Infernal.

There is so much information about Azazel including mention of him in Hebrew scripture and mythology. 1 Enoch 8:1-2 reveals that Azazel taught men the art of war and women the ways of harlotry. Because of him there arose much ungodliness. In French occultist Collin de Plancy's Dictionnaire Infernal, Azazel is described as the guardian of goats. Although not mentioned in the Qur'an, in Islam Azazil/Azazel is said to be the original name of Iblis (the Devil, Satan). Iblis was the Jinn (or spirit) who worshiped Allah (God) from amongst the ranks of the angels. He denied Allah's command to bow down before Adam and who later tempted Adam to eat from the forbidden tree. He made a promise to tempt mankind into sin and lead them all astray.
